Chief is good with other dogs, rides nicely in the car, is house trained, and is crate trained. He walks well on leash (for a beagle). He has not been tested with cats or children. 

He has recently healed up from surgery for bilateral hernia repair. Due to having a history of hernias, Chief will need to be on a stool softener (such as Metamucil) for the rest of his life to reduce the risk of recurrence. Luckily, he doesn’t mind. He happily eats his kibble with Metamucil powder and a bit of water added. As a bonus, this actually makes him easier to clean up after!
