Barney is a gem! He is a major lovebug, always seeking out pets and cuddles. He has no concept of personal space nor any understanding of where his limbs are, so he’ll launch himself in a cannonball of cuddle right into your lap any opportunity he gets. He has no bones in his body and just melts into whatever space is available to snuggle. He is extremely charming and is super jazzed when he entices people to pet him when he’s out on walks. 

Barney gets along wonderfully with our two beagles (8 & 4). He plays well and we’ve caught him snuggling with our younger dog. I don’t think he requires another dog in the home, but he would also be perfectly happy with canine siblings. 

He walks well on leash for a beagle. He doesn’t pull, but does need extra time to sniff every scent he encounters. 

Barney is housetrained and will use a dog door or let you know he needs to go out. He also seems to be crate trained. 

Things we are working on with Barney: jumping/pawing for attention, putting his paws up on counters/tables, occasionally getting mouthy when excited. Because he doesn’t understand where his limbs are and likes to put his paws on people, I wouldn’t recommend a home with very small kids who he could accidentally knock over. 

Overall, Barney is a fantastic boy and whoever adds him to their family will be very lucky!
