About Adaline

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Adoption Fee: 300
  • Species: Dog
  • Current Size: 34 Pounds
  • Current Age: 3 Years 4 Months (best estimate)

Little Adaline is so beautiful! We believe she is a Catahoula Leopard Dog, possibly mixed with something larger. She has grown by 13 lbs in 2 weeks, so be prepared for her to be a LARGE and ENERGETIC dog in just a few months! We are estimating as an adult she could reach the 90 lb range!
Addie is a typical puppy; still mouthing things, stealing various items to run off with, and learning housetraining and how to not climb on furniture. She has big feet and a big voice but also a big heart and loves to snuggle once the puppy energy peters out!
Please read more about this breed here: https://dogs.lovetoknow.com/catahoula-puppies
Addie will need an outlet for her energy and herding instinct - play time and walks, swimming, hiking, retrieving, and dog sports will be great options for keeping this active breed happy and using her brain for good instead of mischief.
Without training and mental stimulation, this breed can become destructive in the home. Due to their independence and territorial instincts, becoming well-socialized is also very important for the Catahoula to be a gentle and affectionate companion in the home.
Addie needs a fenced yard with a very secure fence - 6 foot preferred. We prefer to adopt her to a dog experienced home with experience handling working breeds so please include that info in your application. No apartments please.
Due to her breed and size, we require a written training plan to be in place with a force free trainer before adoption. We can provide trainer recommendations if desired.
The adoption donation is $300, plus a spay deposit of $50, and an additional training deposit of $50 The training deposit will be returned to you after your trainer has provided proof that the first training class or sessions have taken place.  The spay deposit will be returned to you after you provide proof she has been spayed when she is older.
