This petite (20 lbs) brindle beauty was rescued from a dismal situation, but she doesn’t harbor any ill will. Seven year old Baby is all about looking toward her bright future as a beloved pet, living inside and getting lots of love. Baby is very friendly, housebroken, quiet and crate trained. She would be fine living in an apartment.  Baby loves to go for walks, and walks nicely on leash.  She is calm and happy to lay by her foster mom’s side as she works at her desk or watches TV.  Baby hasn’t met anyone that isn’t her immediate friend; this girl is a social butterfly.  She is particularly enamored of her 15 yo foster brother, even when he is loudly cheering for his team on the telly.
Poor Baby is being treated for heartworm, which means that she is going to have to take it easy for the next few months as she undergoes treatment for this preventable disease.  Baby will need to be kept calm, with minimal exercise during this time.  Short walks, doggie puzzles, chew toys and training time will help counteract the limit on exercise.  Good thing Baby is a calm, chill middle aged dog who likes to nap and snuggle much of the time.  She’s past the puppy antics and activity level.  But never fear, once she gets rid of those pesky heartworms, she will be as good as new!  House of Hounds Rescue is committed to getting Baby the very best vet care and will be paying for all the care needed to eradicate the heartworms from her system. We are seeking a “foster-to-adopt” home, so that we can oversee Baby’s vet care until she is free of heartworm. Our vet is in Ann Arbor, and Baby will need to have a few visits there during this treatment.
Other than the heartworm issue, Baby is healthy and has been spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.
If you are interested in meeting Baby, please complete the adoption application. We would be happy to answer all questions about Baby’s vet care and the foster-to-adopt process.  This snuggly gal will be worth the bit of extra effort!
